DIY Flower Chandeliers Are Taking Over Dining Rooms. Floral chandeliers are nothing new in the world of weddings — though they are getting more and more extravagant as the years go on. Incorporating them into homes, however, well, that's an entirely different story, but the idea is catching on. Fresh flowers have long been the star of your dinner table, but with this concept, they reach new heights and really transform a room for a special event. Pantone Just Released Its "Color Of The Year". It's an interior design moment we wait for all year, the Pantone Color of the Year. This is the defining hue that takes its cues from the year behind us, and attempts to set the tone for the year ahead. This year, the color experts at Pantone followed up on 2017's Greenery by selecting a hue that's as unexpected as it is refreshing: Ultra Violet. Ultra Violet, or Pantone 18-3838, is a complex, celestial shade of purple, veering toward the cooler end of the color spectrum, that calls to mind the vastness of the galaxy, the power of spirituality, and creative expression in all its forms.
Millennials Have a Favorite Color, and It's Not Pink. Millennial pink: a color so omnipresent, it somehow became symbolic of an entire generation. Deliciously bright and endearing, it's no wonder we're drawn to shops, clothing and interiors that feature the shade. Despite it being literally everywhere, it turns out millennials have an unexpected favorite color — and it's pretty much the exact opposite of pale pink. In celebration of National Painting Week, Sherwin-Williams collaborated with Harris Poll to find out Americans' color preferences, and after surveying 2,200 people over the age of 18, results showed that 41 percent of millennials chose black (gasp!) as their favorite color. Overall, black and blue were the favorites for all ages.
